March Giveaway

Hello! It's my turn to host the OTTBS giveaway this month. I decided that I would use it as an opportunity to do a little stashbusting and trawled through the stash to find something pretty to make up a prize for one lucky winner.
.

First of all I found a beautiful face cab handmade by Blueberri beads. I then decided to have a little bit of fun and mixed up 70 grams of bead soup that I think complements it nicely. In the bead soup, the winner will find 11's, 15's, triangles, freshwater pearls, a few Swarovski crystals and lots of other little treasures.
.

For a chance to win the cabochon and bead soup, please comment on this post by Midnight (GMT) on Thursday 27th March. The winner will be drawn at random and announced, here on the blog, on the 28th March. This giveaway is open to entrants worldwide. When commenting, please remember to leave a way for me to contact you if you win.

The February Giveaway - Winner Revealed!

Hello! It's time announce the winner of The February Giveaway! Who could have won a copy of Jean Power's Compendium of Beading Techniques?

After the competition closed, I used the Random Number Generator to choose a number between 1 - 38 (the number of comments we had) and it chose Number 24. That means that this month's winner is Gemma Andrews! Gemma, I'll be contacting you soon!

The March Challenge

Welcome to the March challenge! It's theme time again and we would like you to create a piece inspired by an Ancient Civilization.

To clarify 'ancient civilization' for this challenge, it is a civilization that existed in antiquity (before 476 AD) and no longer exists. There are so many to choose from - Mayans, Egyptians, Aztecs, Minoans, Romans - to name just a few! There's a huge amount of information available about ancient civilizations on the internet, but here's a good place to start... http://archaeology.about.com/od/ancientcivilizations/

Please remember to let us know the name of the ancient civilization that you've chosen as your inspiration when you submit your entry and it would be lovely to have a few words about what inspired you to create your piece to add to the blog along with your photo. We want you to have absolute free rein so this month there is no twist.

How do I enter?
Simply email your photograph to Liz at ottbs@live.com along with any other necessary info mentioned above.

We're happy for you to post your photos on our Facebook group if you are a member but please make sure that you've also emailed your entry. Entries that have not been emailed will not be accepted. By submitting your entry via email you are giving the admin of Operation Tackle That Bead Stash permission to share your email address with the sponsor if you are the lucky winner. We take your privacy very seriously and will not share your email address with anyone else.

What can I make?
Anything as long as it involves beads! Any technique is accepted, from beadweaving and stringing to wire work and bead embroidery. Lampworkers and polymer clay artists are also welcome to submit beads they've made. We're sorry but any entries that do not include beads in some form or another will not be accepted. Your entry must be made especially for the challenge, to make it fair on everyone who takes part please do not submit something that was made before March 1st 2014.

Does it have to be my own design?
No. We're happy for you to make something using a pattern from a book, magazine or tutorial but if you do please let us know the designer's name so that we can give them credit.

When is the deadline for entries?
The deadline is Midnight (in your time zone) on Monday the 31st of March. The winner will be announced the following day.

Can I enter more than once?
You can make as many pieces as you like using the chosen theme. All entries will be shown here on the blog but you will only be entered into the draw once.

I'm not in the UK, can I still join in?
Yes of course! We welcome submissions from around the world so don't worry if you're not in the UK. Our sponsors have agreed to post prizes overseas so you can still enter and be eligible for the prize!

Any other questions?
If you have any questions about the challenge please feel free to email Liz at ottbs@live.com
