The February Challenge - And the winner is...

Thanks to everyone who joined in with our February challenge! Beautiful work from you all - as always - and it's so great to see how many of you took up our extra challenge of including freeform in your entry, some of you for the very first time!

The February Challenge

Welcome to the February challenge. It's colour scheme time and this month we'd like you to create something in RED, BLUE and GOLDAny shades of Blue and Red are accepted and Gold can be gold coloured and/or metallic.



THE TWIST: We haven't had a twist for some time so this month we'd like you to include some FREEFORM BEADWEAVING in your work. This is completely optional but if you do include some freeform in your piece we will give you TWO entries into the draw!

If you have never tried freeform beadweaving before there are a few links to some instructions and hints.They are mostly peyote stitch but you are free to use other beadweaving stitches in your piece...


THE PRIZE:

HOW TO ENTER:
Simply email a photograph of your entry to Liz at ottbs@live.com. The challenge runs until Midnight on Saturday the 28th of February and the winner is drawn and announced the following day. The challenge is open to beaders worldwide.

RULES & OTHER INFORMATION:
Entries must have been started on or after February 1st 2015.
You can make any item, it does not need to be jewellery.
You can use any craft technique but it must include beads.
Findings are exempt from the colour challenge.
Your entry must be a finished piece.
If your entry isn't your own design you must credit the original designer.

The January Challenge

Happy new year beaders and welcome to the first challenge of 2015. We have a whole year of beading challenges lined up ready to inspire you to get creative and Tackle That Bead Stash! We're kicking the new year off with a theme and we'd like you to create something INSPIRED BY A SONG.


This can be any song of your choice, it does not have to be a popular or well known song and can be from any genre or decade. You can use the title and/or what the song is about to inspire your piece, it is up to you. Let us know the name of the song and the singer/group as we will be including this with your photo on the blog post. Please note that nursery rhymes etc. will not be accepted for this challenge.
